For those who like computer icons, I have assembled a collection of Copland-style pixels that you can use on your PC or Mac. My creative insipiration came from the old-school icons found on IconFactory.com. All the icons in this download I made myself, mostly out of impatience waiting for someone else to do them.
The icons posted here are for your downloading enjoyment. You'll find consoles such as the Virtual Boy, Sega CDX, Sega Saturn, Nintendo Gamecube, Game Boy Advance (1st revision, 2 colors), Game Boy Advance SP (Platinum), Nintendo DS, XBox, and the Sony PSP. To get the other icons, you'll have to find them, either at IconFactory.com or elsewhere. (I'm not sure where to go to ask permission for distributing the other ones.)

My opinion on the legality of video game emulation is about the same as any purist video-gamer. They might be fun to mess around with on a limited basis, but when it all comes down to the bottom line, it's still illegal, since there is some form of piracy involved. Even the old Atari and Coleco Vision games are included, since they're still protected under the 75-year copyright laws.
Having them for "backup purposes" is useless. Games cannot be erased or made unplayable in any way (unless you take the sledgehammer to one). ROM sites that tell you to "delete them after 24 hours on a trial basis" is baloney. It's just an excuse made up on the net to justify having them available.
Anyway, as a serious collector, it bugs me when people claim to have hundreds of games, when all they really have is a bunch of ripped ROMs on their computer or a burned CD. All the games I have collected are authentic purchases, because I have always believed in supporting the video-game industry. I'll condone you if you experiment with them, because it can be fun to tweak settings and learn the inner workings of games, but you should not become dependent on them. Besides, emulation is never quite as good as the real thing. Go out and buy genuine games, so they will stay cheap for the future.
I will never post any emulators or ROMs, but if you want to see what emulation is all about, visit Zophar's Domain. You can try and use any standard search engine to find ROMs, but prepare to be given the run-around and wade through a flood of pop-ups, just to possibly find what you're looking for. I'm not responsible for anything you download.
